French mélodies by Gabriel Fauré, Claude Debussy and Maurice Ravel provide the soundtrack for the Impressionism of Monet’s water lilies and Degas’ dancers, while the sounds of German and Russian songs by Richard Strauss, Sergei Prokofiev and Igor Stravinsky move us toward Arnold Schoenberg, Alban Berg and Kurt Weill and the Expressionism of Van Gogh’s Starry Night, Munch’s The Scream and Kandinsky’s Blue Rider.
Staged by Soprano/stage director Suzan Hanson and accompanied by pianist/coach Victoria Kirsch. The night will be enhanced by images of well-known Impressionist and Expressionist paintings.
